Your barn can have up to twelve (12) smoke alarms in a row, providing the cable lengths are within the manufacturer’s guidelines. The manufacturer recommends one (1) smoke detector for every 750 square feet.
Smoke detector
Smoke detectors are designed to provide early warning of developing fires at a reasonable cost. They monitor the air and can sense smoke, providing precious minutes for you and your animals to escape before a fire spreads. Early warning fire detection is best achieved by the installation of one smoke detector for every 750 square feet.

Model 2012HA is a low-voltage photo electronic smoke detector designed for open area protection in a residential buildings, barns and stables. It has a built-in relay which may be used to activate auxiliary devices such as bells, horns and door closers. The relay contacts automatically close 8 seconds after the detector goes into alarm. A piezoelectric horn in each detector produces an audible 85 dBA temporal tone evacuation signal when a detector alarms or an interconnected detector alarms. This temporal tone evacuation signal complies with ISO8201. The signal consists of 3 beeps each, 5 seconds apart, followed by 1.5 seconds of silence. These detectors can be interconnected for a system of up to 12 smoke detector per barn so when one smoke detector sounds its evacuation signal it causes the other connected detectors to sound as well.

Wireless Transmitter
This is connected to the first smoke detector in the chain and plugs into an outlet in the barn.  When connected to a smoke detection system and turns on a siren in the house or grooms quarters when the alarm trips. Triggered by a contact closure or low voltage input (6-18V AC, DC or audio).

Powerhorn Siren
This is the receiver and it simply plugs into any outlet in the house, providing that it is on the same transformer as the barn.  These piercing, plug-in sirens can be added anywhere around the home.

Dialer Option
The Dialer Option is an add-on feature that allows the system to reach you if you are not at home so that emergency and fire crews can be dispatched even in your absence. It can be pre-programmed to call up to 4 phone numbers so you can program your cell phone number, pager number, employee phone number or even a neighbor’s phone number. In that way our fire detection systems work for you and your animals even when you are not at home.
